Néstor J. Brea is a structural engineering consultant with 25 years of experience, specializing in performance-based design, seismic evaluation, and retrofitting of existing buildings. His project involvement spans various sizes, complexities, and types. With extensive experience in studying, reinforcing, and repairing structures affected by hurricanes or earthquakes, Mr. Brea is adept at developing structural projects using materials such as reinforced concrete, structural steel, and wood. He has also conducted inspections on civil works and prepared forensic reports for hundreds of structures. Mr. Brea was Professor of Structures I and III in the School of Architecture at the University of Puerto Rico.

Professional Experience
José A. Brea has over 45 years of experience in structural engineering and construction management. His expertise spans the entire project cycle, from feasibility to construction. He has led, designed, and delivered a wide variety of projects, including low and mid-rise buildings, hospitals, industrial facilities, hotels, apartment complexes, and bridges, among others. Mr. Brea has extensive experience in designing cost-efficient structural systems using leading construction materials. He is known for his effective project management techniques and direct knowledge of construction systems, successfully overcoming planning and budget constraints in projects. Additionally, he served as a professor at the now-defunct Universidad Mundial Dominicana (UMD), currently known as Universidad Federico Henríquez y Carvajal (UFHEC), teaching subjects like Dynamics and Strength of Materials. He has also conducted courses sponsored by the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects, and Surveyors (CODIA) and participated in the training of construction foremen for the Ministry of Public Works (MOPC).
Beyond his design experience, Mr. Brea established and implemented a quality control monitoring program to ensure the firm complies with the highest professional standards. He is a natural mentor, passionate about sharing his knowledge with younger engineers. His strong relationships with clients and the team are invaluable to our organization.
